"The Visit" was released in the United States on September 11, 2015. It is directed, written and produced by M. Night Shyamalan. The main characters are played by Olivia DeJoung and Ed Oxenbould. This movie may be a different kind of fun than the movies I've mentioned so far, as the entire story is told only through the images shot by the main characters. However, be careful if you are prone to screen sickness.
First, let me tell you about the story: Becca, 15, and Tyler, 13, accept an invitation from their grandparents, whom they have never known before, to spend Monday through Saturday at their grandparents' house in Pennsylvania. Becca was going to make a documentary film about her time with her grandparents. There were three rules at the grandparents' house. First, "Have a good time." Second, "Don't hesitate to eat whatever you like. Third, "Never leave your room after 9:30 pm. At first glance, the grandparents seem normal and kind, but as time goes by, their suspicious behavior increases. Will Becca and Tyler be able to keep the rules?
This movie is a very familiar fear. I believe that because there are no distinctly scary characters like ghosts or demons, you can experience real fear.Since Becca and Taylor put the camera down and filmed their daily lives, it is impossible to create a scary atmosphere through the way it is shot, but I thought the way it was directed was very interesting because it somehow made me feel on edge. And anyway, the grandmother is scary to death, so pay attention to her too.
Lastly, let's talk about the director. M. Night Shyamalan is a famous Indian-African filmmaker who has created many hit films such as "The Sixth Sense" and "After Earth". He has been an admirer of Steven Spielberg since he was a child, and had shot 45 films by the time he was 17. Some of those films can also be seen as bonus material on the DVD. He is also famous for appearing in scenes from his own films, so look for him where he is when you watch his work.
